The Prophet ﷺ clarified that تقوى is the only criterion for differentiation between people, and that race or color does not give any فضل to anyone over another.

• Hadith “Verily, all of you are from Adam, and Adam is from dust”:

This hadith is narrated in Sahih Bukhari, and it emphasizes that all people descend from one origin, which is Adam عليه السلام.

• Hadith “Indeed, the believers are brothers, so there is no injustice between them, and do not envy one another, and do not hate one another, and do not turn away from one another, and be servants of Allah as brothers”:

This hadith is narrated in Sahih Muslim, and it emphasizes that believers are brothers who do not prefer one another, and that they should deal with each other with justice and respect.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever of you wakes up secure in his flock, healthy in his body, and has his daily sustenance, it is as if the world has been acquired for him in its entirety.”

This noble hadith confirms the importance of waking up early and securing the sustenance of the day. Islam has encouraged good role models and made them one of the most important qualities that a Muslim should possess. Allah Almighty said:

{Indeed, there has been for you in the Messenger of Allah a good example for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much.} [Al-Ahzab: 21]

Good role models have great importance in society, as they help to spread goodness and virtue, and reform individuals and societies. They also help to build a person’s integrated personality and form it on Islamic values and principles.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) set us the best examples in good role models. He (peace be upon him) was a role model in everything, in his worship, his treatment of his family, companions, and enemies.

He (peace be upon him) was always remembering and worshiping Allah, and he was keen to perform obligatory and supererogatory duties, and he used to pray to Allah Almighty at all times. He was also merciful and compassionate, and he loved goodness for people and sought to achieve it.

He (peace be upon him) used to urge his companions to follow him, saying:

“Take my rituals from me.”

The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were good role models for their nations, as they followed the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and applied it in their daily lives.

Thus, the importance of good role models in Islam becomes clear, and the necessity of following the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them).

Here are some examples of good role models in Islam:

• Adhering to obligatory and supererogatory duties, and being keen to worship at all times.
• Mercy, kindness, forgiveness, and tolerance towards others.
• Truthfulness, honesty, justice, and charity.

• Patience, endurance, and wisdom in the face of adversity.
